Median
The current proposed plan includes an 18.5-foot median. This brings up a few questions…
- Why did the original 103-foot wide plan not include a median if it is so necessary?
- Why did we have to pass a city ordinance (Nov. 2021) to cover this?
- If a pedestrian resting area is required in the middle of the street, why does North Hills get a pass?
Widened Right Turn Lanes
Why the extra wide right turn lane?
- The added lane should already provide that function
- Extra space is needed to turn into a neighborhood but not out of it?
- This will cut even more property out of people’s yards
- If this was a problem people would be complaining about it – most of us know how to drive.
- Belt and suspenders at tax payer and property owners expense
While these extra features could be nice when being planned for a new neighborhood, there is a lot of extra expense and trouble involved when dealing with existing property owners and taking over the property needed for the improvements.
